Is it wrong to be entertained by the sight of my alpha cat scurrying for his hiding spot at the sound of the garbage truck?

You know what else is awesome, besides my scardey  cat? Seventy degree weather at the beginning of October. Winter can hold off. I won't mind. Really. And good weather means more disc golfing!

We've discovered this awesome sport of tossing frisbees at a basket just this summer and I can't help but wonder, where the heck have I been? This is HUGE here and I really had no idea. And it's super fun. Not to mention, great exercise. Especially the "Beauty" trail we have here. It's through the woods, up and down hills. We went last night and we're planning to go again on Sunday if it doesn't rain, though I really wouldn't mind playing in the rain. I like the rain.

Son loves disc golfing too and, I hate to admit it, but he's ten times better than his mother and he's only played twice! Where did he acquire these mad skills? Because I really need some. One of the rules of disc golfing is that the person with the frisbee furthest from the basket goes first and it seems like I'm ALWAYS first because I'm always furthest away!

In other news, I've been so flippin' bored the last three days that I've watched more TV than I have in the last year. Not having anything that needed to be written or revised has left me extremely bored and a bit lost. I was going to dive into another WIP but I feel like I should take this break. I really don't want to, however.

As for the shows:

Moonlight sucked.

Chuck is hilarious! Mr. Jen and I watched the first epi last weekend and I still laugh when I think of the Nerd Herd VW Bug backing down a flight of stairs when the camera cuts to a surfer dude who says in the slow surfer drawl, "Wow. Computer emergency."

I haven't seen epi 2 yet since Mr. Jen is making me wait for the weekend when we can watch it together. Which means I haven't seen epi 2 of Heroes yet either. But the first one was pretty dang good. And you know what gave me the most pleasure? Seeing that they cut Peter's hair!! Yeah! And I like the previews I've seen of Peter so far.

Bionic Woman was also surprisingly good. I missed Pushing Daisys, but I hear it was awesome! I'll have to see if I can catch it. Reaper was hilarious as well, but I had to watch it online in a rather smushed streaming vid and they still don't have the second episode.

Gossip Girl is also coming along well. Thank God for the XBox! However, it still hasn't gotten Reaper or ANTM. I haven't checked for Supernatural yet, but I swear...if it doesn't have the new season I think I might have a heart attack.

I had a dream last night that I was a Hero. And Peter Petrelli had gone rogue. And Samuel L. Jackson, my superior, had asked me to stop Peter. Guess what my power was?

I had the ability, just by watching someone for a few minutes, to adopt their fighting style and I could, from then on, predict their next three moves. I kicked Peter's ass.

Then, using a new shape-shifting ability, he shifted into a whining baby just as the cops screamed up to the building.

Yeah. It was weird. But also very, very cool.

Does anyone else on my friend list besides [info]watchmebe watch LonelyGirl15?

I am addicted, though lately, with the videos taking a craptastic turn, I haven't been running over there every ten seconds to check for a new video. Still, I'm there at least once a day. Really the only reason I watch at this point is for Jonas (the actor Jackson Davis). Check out his deliciousness:

Who wants to bet that Jonas and Bree will be smooching on camera in the near future?  I'm not a fan of the Bree/Jonas hook up, but Jonas is just so damn cute that I squealed with delight when he kissed Bree on the forehead in today's video.

Can I be Bree please? Just for a day?

In case you're curious, check the LG15 videos out at www.lonelygirl15.com

Chris Richardson and Blake again did well on AI tonight. I'm pleased. They are my favorites!! And it seems like they are becoming good friends too. They always sit/stand next to each other and you can often see them chatting. I love that.

LonelyGirl15 continues to engage me though I worry that Jonas's character is going to disappear into oblivion because he is supposedly a "bad guy". I love Jonas! I don't want to see him go. ([info]watchmebe, I refuse to believe he is a watcher until he admits as much outloud!) I think he's on the side of good. But they better show us something good after two days of just talking videos. I like the videos with action. Does anyone else watch LonelyGirl? And if not...why NOT?!

The Black Donnelly's last night was AWESOME. I've been anticipating this show for a while now. I think I first heard about it in January or December and it held up to all of my expectations. Tommy is brilliant and I love that he's "taken over the neighborhood". There's something about a quiet, seemingly vulnerable guy becoming a crime boss. Quietly dangerous is sexy.

I finally watched The Prestige this weekend. It was awesome as well. I loved that movie and thought about it for the rest of the night. Christian Bale was delicious in that role. I just loved watching him on screen. He's always been a fav of mine and I'm glad to see him reappear.

Lastly, anyone going to watch 300 at the theaters? Mr. Jen and I are giddy with anticipation.

([info]sruble and I have this thing where we title our emails with random, sometimes made up proverbs. I couldn't think of a subject for this entry, so ye are treated with one of said proverbs.)

Why are you silly people not posting? Entertain me!!!! ;)

It's been one of those days where several things went wrong, but so many things went right that it didn't really matter.

The Wrong Things
1. We woke up a bit late and when we went out to the car, all the windows were frosted over. And I couldn't find my De-Icer!
2. My nose was really, really annoying today. It kept getting that tingling sensation like I needed to sneeze, but I couldn't! No matter what I tried! I almost pulled the car over because my eyes were practically swollen shut from the nose tingles.
3. Son forgot his library book and today is library day, so we had to turn around and drive back home for the stinkin' book because he was very sad that he wouldn't be able to get a new book today and I just can't stand seeing him sad when it comes to books.
4. The book I ordered----Tantalize----didn't come in today!

See...not too many bad things and nothing really extreme.

The Good Things
1. [info]sruble called me today!! She sounded a lot like I thought she would on the phone. I wonder what she thought I sounded like? Did I sound like the dork that I am in our emails? I mean, she knows I'm a total dork, but I often wonder how emails correlate to speech. You know?
2. We had Subway tonight and it was oh so delic.
3. I read a bit of Possession and I really, really like it.
4. American Idol was pretty dang good tonight! Lakisha rocked it!
5. Mr. Jen told me I looked like I was losing weight. Yeah!

Speaking of Possession...I cannot wait to finish up the revision and get it back out there. There are four agents who are waiting or said they'd like to take a look at the revision. And then, when it's back out there, I can start on something new!!! I've got a few ideas that I need to pick from. I've written at least a chapter of each of them and I think I'm feeling the most love from the urban fantasy I'm calling Half Shadow. But you never know which one will turn out to be the "next love" until you really dive into it. But I'm excited to get going on something new.

I can't think of anything to post about...so I guess I'll just write about random things...

American Idol
Chris Richardson and Blake Lewis are my favorites and they both did well last night!!! Yeah! I'm actually not looking forward to the girls tonight and I guess that's because no one stands out for me. Or maybe it's because I'm strictly heterosexual and I mainly watch AI for the hotties! Okay, no, I'm kidding. (But only a little)

The Black Donnellys
Who's going to watch this new NBC show next Monday night when it premieres? I'm totally there. I love that kind of stuff (organized crime shows) and I especially like the way the four brothers seem to stick very closely together.

My nose
It won't stop getting all tingly like I need to sneeze, but then I don't actually sneeze.

My Chemical Romance
Is on the TV right now and Frank Iero is totally punk hot.

My Image
If I could lose a bunch of weight and I had an unlimited amount of money to reinvent my image, I'd buy a really, really expensive leather jacket, a pair of black boots (that I'd wear over my jeans) and then I'd get a tattoo. And possibly get my nose pierced. I wonder if my image would embarrass my son or if he'd still think I was cool? If my mom wore a leather jacket and had her nose pierced, I'd think she was cool. She has a few tattoos, but they're really lame. Like my dad's name in a heart.

Speaking of parents
Last weekend I took my son down to the lake so he could go ice fishing with my mom and dad and brother. And there's something you need to understand about my dad...he's very hillbilly/hippy. Like, here's what he was wearing down there: A pair of army green snowpants from the 70's and one of those pullover coats people used to wear in the 70's, they're kind of like potato sacks...let's see if I can find a picture online...ah, here we go:

This is the kind of jacket I was talking about, except my dad's is sky blue, white and PINK. Yes, PINK. It's his favorite jacket. He wears it everywhere. But that's not even the worst of it. My dad also has this huge head of hair. Think Ashton Kutcher in That 70's Show and THEN, he also has this huge, full beard, like ZZ Top. Seriously, imagine seeing this guy out on the ice. He's a total hillbilly. NOW...

Picture that hillbilly on ice skates!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I've never laughed so hard. And he was singing and holding his arms up in the air like he was trying to fly. I'm trying to buy myself a video camera and you can bet the first video I take and post on the Internet will be of my hillbilly dad ice skating. It was hilarious. I wish I had a picture of his full head of hair and beard, I think you'd get the idea better. I'll have to see what I got later.

I think that'll conclude my disparate post.

I don't know why, but I am weirdly fascinated by the fact that Britney Spears has shaved her head.

I spelled Britney's name wrong the first time I posted! Whoops! I was so into the bald head I didn't pay attention to my spelling!

In case you haven't heard yet, American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry has a new album out and it's awesome. If you liked him on AI you'll like the album.

And I just watched a preview for Prison Break's fall finale on Yahoo and Chris's song was the soundtrack to it. How cool is that? I liked Chris. I liked his style, his music, and his back story. I want him to succeed!

So go grab the album!
8th-Nov-2006 10:29 pm - Brad and Movies
umbrella

I caught Meet Joe Black on TV today. I wasn't really planning on watching anything. I was just channel surfing to fill the time, but as soon as I started watching (it was at that scene where Joe asks the butler for peanut butter on a spoon ha!) I couldn't stop.

I LOVE that movie. And I also realized tonight, while watching it and crying like a little girl, that all of my fav movies are Brad Pitt movies.

Meet Joe Black (Death Brad Pitt, yumm)
Legends of the Fall (Slightly, or maybe Totally Insane But Also Very Intense Brad Pitt)
Interview with the Vampire (Vampire Brad Pitt, need I say more?)
Fight Club (Fearless, Deranged Brad Pitt)

But, most of them are Young Brad Pitt movies. I actually didn't get into Mr. & Mrs. Smith or Troy as much as I thought I would. He just seemed so much cooler in his older work. Maybe it was because he was so young and hot! And in his present day movies, I am reminded that he is just five months younger than my father and 14 days younger than my mother, which is kinda gross. I'm not into older dudes.

Now I have a Brad Pitt craving. I think I might watch Fight Club this weekend. Yum.

Britney is divorcing K-Fed!!!!!! No freakin' way. See what I mean about the tabloids. THEY ARE ALWAYS RIGHT.

And now I'm beginning to wonder if Angie and Brad really are on the fritz.
