Some good news...

I have been sitting on some good news for a few weeks waiting for the go-ahead to share. And now I can finally share!

From Publisher's Weekly Children's Bookshelf:

Julie Scheina at Little, Brown has acquired world English rights to Jennifer Rush's debut Altered, pitched as Dollhouse meets Prison Break for teens, in a three-book deal. In the novel, 17-year-old Anna finds herself on the run from her father's enigmatic Agency, along with the four teen boys the Agency had been experimenting on, in a mystery of erased memories, secret identities, and genetic alteration. Publication is scheduled for fall 2012. Joanna Volpe at Nancy Coffey Literary & Media Representation did the deal.

OMGAWD! MY BOOK SOLD!!

I still can't quite believe it. It's going to be published. People are going to read it. It will have a cover and my name will be on it. I will be able to hold the book in my hands. I can't believe it, but I also can't wait.

I'm very excited to work with Julie. She's extremely nice, and funny and she shares my love of hot boys. :) But seriously, our first phone conversation was enough to tell me Little, Brown was the right publisher, and that Julie was the perfect editor for Altered and for me.

But of course, none of this would have ever happened if it hadn't been for my fantastic agent. And I don't think I will ever be able to put into words how awesome Jo is! Let's see if I can try...she's smart, funny, an editorial ninja, dead-on with revisions...yeah, I could go on and on! So thankful I work with such great people.

This is such amazing news! I can't imagine how ecstatic you are about this right now! I will eagerly run out to buy a copy of ALTERED once it's published, since (1) your writing is amazing, and (2) the Dollhouse-Meets-Prison-Break tagline is too good to pass up. ;)

Aww! Thanks!! Is it 2012 yet? ;) I can't wait to see Altered out there in the world. It'll be crazy to hold the book in my hands. My fab agent put together the Dollhouse-meets-Prison-Break tagline. I was a huge fan of Prison Break, but just started watching Dollhouse when she recommended it to me. Such a great show!
